Hi guys! I’m back to filming makeup tutorials! It feels so good to get my hands on my camera again and test the new studio lights. It’s my first time to shoot a decent tutorial at the studio and here’s the result.
These are raw photos taken from the video. I’m currently editing this tutorial right now.
Regarding the makeup, it’s not exactly like Kim Kardashian. I was only inspired by her big lashes, gray smokey eyes she used to sport, contoured cheeks (I’m calling it the smilebones), and nude pink lips. But if you think I look like Kanye’s woman in these photos, then I am deeply honoured. HAHA.
Make sure to visit my Youtube channel to be updated and to see the full list of the products I’ve used in this tutorial!
Win a Pass to AV Studio’s Grand Opening!
Finally, my very own studio! I never imagined having one at this point in my life. I was gonna give up, saying that this studio is impossible and that I should wait for a couple of years. But then, it happened. Ms. Myla from Glaminar Makeup Artistry, whom I’ve been working with for about a year, approached me. Last year, we started searching for commercial spaces, furnitures, and etc. And now, we are ready to operate! Im so excited!
This April 11 marks the opening of AV Studio and I want you guys to come! There will be five(5) lucky winners for this contest. All you have to do is:
- Like AV Makeup Studio on Facebook.
- Tweet, Instarepost or share on Facebook with the hashtag #AVGrandOpening.
Winners will be chosen on Thursday April 10.
Good luck and see you there!

11 Things Why I’m Thankful For My Birthday
Here are some goodies I got for my birthday month! I recently turned 21! YAY!
1. Peau Chic Shop goodies
These soaps look interesting! I’ll be including some Peau Chic soaps in my next giveaway. I still have to figure out the mechanics as I’m planning to do a really huge one!
2. AVON gift
Contents of this box will be featured in separate blog post. Too good to post everything here. Watch out!
3. Brush set from Mikki Galang
I got a new brush set from my co-blogger, Mikki Galang. The brush holder is customised. I think Mikki is coming up with these brush holders/cases that lets you choose whatever design you want. Correct me if Im wrong, Mikki! Haha.
4. Suesh Makeup Toolkit goodies
Now, I’m not too big on Korean products but upon swatching some of these Mizon goodies from Suesh, I’m looking forward to more Kproducts! I’m currently loving the Brown Fit liner as my everyday eye pencil.
This brush set is so useful, too! I often use an angled blush brush for blushes but when I used the small powder brush, I became a fan. Reminds me of Bobbi Brown brushes to be honest!
5. Philosophy goodies
Meet my new body buddy. I got the Amazing Grace which is…amazing! I got a lot of compliments when I wore this. Everything from Philosophy smells great. Why?!
6. CBTL 2014 planner from sister
I lost my first ever planner last January after a photo shoot. It was a very tragic day—-and I won’t dig deep into it anymore. Let me be honest, I am not fond of planners before. I’m not a fan of collecting stickers in order to redeem a plain notebook. Before, I used to order my drinks and would often just say “no thanks!” to stickers. It’s so baduy. It reminds me of scrapbooks when I was in grade school.
But now that I have grown up, I have appreciated planning my events and everything that I need to do. I badly needed an organiser so when I got my first one, I got hooked! Who’s baduy now? HAHA!
7. MUA products from Make Up Hub
I’m a huge fan of matte lip creams. Thanks to MUA luxe and MakeupHub, I now have 5 more colours to add to my collection.
These aren’t so sticky compared to the Lime Crime Velvetines btw. The colour is so opaque even if you apply a tiny amount.
Another addition to my brow kit, too! And this one’s got a highlighter on the other side. Cool!
8. Benefit Cosmetics goodies
I got a palette from Benefit to go with my beach outfits this summer. I like how you can use the box for other stuff after you’re done with the content.
9. H&M leopard top from tita Camille
10. BCBG Max Azria Envelope Clutch from sister
11. ‘Ysabelle’ bag from designer Abby Jocson
See my cookbook here.
12. Custaroons & JCuppacakes
I feel so guilty with these cakes! Everything was so goooood…

Why I Won’t Ever Grow Tired Of Make Up
The following images says it all.
This was the day I did hair and makeup for the whole day. I went to 3 different locations. The first one was for a pre-nuptial shoot, prom and then the last one was for a party.
I wish I can make girls all over the world happy with my makeovers. I may not be the best makeup artist but what matters to me is the joy they feel whenever I lay my brushes on their face. It’s amazing how makeup can instantly boost their self-esteem and realise they’re beautiful. That moment when I see their eyes smiling upon seeing my work—-priceless.
It’s a feeling I want to repeat over and over again.
Mail Monday! 02242014
It’s that day of the week again! How’s your monday going? For today, I will be answering five questions submitted by my lovely followers. If you don’t know what is Mail Monday and how it works, please refer here.
1. From Aubrey Du
A: Hi Aubrey! I have to be honest but I don’t really clean my brushes after I use them. Kidding! I do spot cleaning on brushes whenever I have several bookings in a day. Every makeup artist must arrive with clean brushes as you don’t want to infect your client’s skin or something. To do this, get a gentle brush cleanser and a tissue to remove makeup from the brushes. I used alcohol before but it was too strong for the brushes. I also deep clean my brushes once a week. Spot cleaning may not remove dirt 100% so this is a must for me. Hope that answered your question! :)
2. From Anonymous
A: Hi! The workshops are on hold for now because of “something” coming out by the first quarter of the year(hopefully)! If not, I’ll be having a summer seminar by April. I will keep everyone posted. :)
3. From Anonymous
A: Thank you so much! My videos are really basic to be honest but I was thinking about doing a workshop about that last year pa. We’ll see! ;)
