REVIEW: MAC Fix+
"An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!" -maccosmetics.com
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Simple. Spray it on! For best results, spray it on twice. Spray several times then let it dry. Then spray another set again.
The product is in a spray bottle with a genius locking system. It is unlike the traditional spray bottles with a detachable cap to prevent you from spraying it accidentally. You just twist it to the right and it’s safe and secured. It won’t ever spill. I also like how it is in a clear bottle so you can see how much is left. It is lightweight but a bit bulky to bring everyday to school or to the office. MAC has the 30ml travel-size edition but unfortunately it’s not available here in the Philippines. You may transfer the product to a smaller spray bottle if you want it to fit inside your clutch.
Glycerin, blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, scent of Sugi and more. Glycerin helps lock moisture.
After cleansing my face and applying toner, I spray this on before applying makeup. I’ve noticed that my skin drinks it up! You can never go wrong with this mist because you can spray on tons, and the skin will be more and more glowing, supple and so perfect. You may choose to let it dry before applying makeup. However, I like to strike while the iron is hot. While it is still wet, I dust powder in circular motions and that’s it—-I have a base already. I especially do that technique for full coverage. The makeup holds on even longer compared without.
TIP: You may also use this as a hair product and to foil your eyeshadow.
I haven’t tried using this to finish makeup though as I like to use Skindinavia for the final step. Both products are absolutely unique from each other—-no need to fight, ladies! This does help the makeup stay but it is more of a product that can instantly make your skin feel fresh or rather alive. You may use Fix+ as a setting spray as well to see the results for yourself.

Look of The Day : Louis Vuitton S/S 2012
This look of the day was inspired by Louis Vuitton’s dainty damsel look from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Ultra soft, feminine and romantic. It was all about high shine, lashes with lots of volume, rosy apples, supple skin and dainty brows.
I know this look is quite old. Literally. The fashion show is over but I will be forever guilty if I didn’t at least try to recreate it. Have you seen the beautiful pictures backstage? The makeup on the models were perfect—-like a princess taken from an old story book and brought to life.
- Benefit That Gal Highlighter
- Maybelline Diamond Glow by EyeStudio in 07 Mocha Brown
- Nichido Minerals/Precise Eye Pencil in Chestnut
- MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
- NYX Mosaic Powder in 06 Rosey
- Guerlain Meteorites in Mythic 01(review)
- Etude House Baby Volume False Lashes
- Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Pink Flame
- MAC Lipgelee in Bubble Lounge
- Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray(review)
Lastly, I added That Gal highlighter from Benefit on certain areas of my face—-where the light would usually hit. On the cupid’s bow, the center of the nose, the inner corners near the tear duct, on the brow bone, above the cheekbones, a little on the forehead and on the chin. And to get the whole western vibe, I put on my blue contact lenses. :)
I hope you like this look. I wanna hear your thoughts! Comment down below!

I am as excited as I will be having another makeup workshop in partnership with Glaminar Makeup Artistry, Olay Philippines, FabShopaholic & ELF Cosmetics!
The workshop will start at 10am with a short lecture about:
- Foundation Routine
- Blush, Contour & Highlighting
- Eyes (brows, eyeshadow, eyelashes, eyeliner)
- Kit, Tools & Brushes
After the lecture, lunch will be served by Cafe France. By 1pm, the demo will start. I will be teaching you how to look naturally pretty as if you didnt put any makeup on! Next, I will demonstrate how to achieve that quick & easy everyday makeup look which you can wear to the office or to school. And lastly, I will show you how to transform that day look into a night/party look by adding only a few smokey colors.
The whole fee for the workshop is only P2600 but you may reserve a slot for only a thousand pesos and pay the rest on the day itself. The fee includes lunch and a fabulous gift pack from our sponsors. Imagine where that P2600 will go! The things you will learn will definitely last for a lifetime. No more “I really don’t get it!” lines from watching makeup tutorials on the internet! In this workshop, you will be assisted from start to finish. We won’t stop until we get it right! :)
What’s also good about this workshop is the makeup buffet! You get to try local & international beauty products! Last time, I wore the Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara which I’ve been meaning to try ever since. What else? Glaminar has NYX, Sephora, Tarte, Revlon, Loreal, Fanny Serrano, Urban Decay, Etude House, Sleek, brushes from Beauty Cosmetics and Dollface Palettes too.
And after the makeover, there will be a photoshoot as well! Bring extra clothes whether you want to look like a fashionista, a rock chick—-it doesn’t matter cause you’ll look gorgeous with your makeup anyway!
These are just enough reasons to why you should join us this Sunday and on upcoming workshops! To reserve a slot, SMS Ms. Myla Armamento of Glaminar Makeup Artistry at +639465367672! Once you have completed the reservation, you will get the instructions on how to get to the venue and more.
What Happened in Glaminar Makeup Artistry’s first ever Makeup Workshop?
This 9th of June marked the first makeup workshop held by Glaminar Makeup Artistry. I arrived ten minutes before 1 o’ clock in the afternoon—-the time we’re supposed to start. Of course, Eloisa, Celline and Jane, are such early birds so we took a few pre-workshop photos!
The other students ain’t there yet so I decided to eat lunch with Ms.Myla, the founder of Glaminar Makeup Artistry, together with the photogs. I kind of panicked—-not because I was too nervous. I thought I left my USB which contains the powerpoint for the workshop, at home! So my mom called, and I was trying to guide her where I might have left that little cd-r king thing. Apparently, it was in my mini pocket hemmed on the exterior of my bag. Facepalmed myself, indeed! Haha!
Without further ado, I started the workshop! We talked about the following :
After the discussion, merienda was served by Conti’s Pastry Shop & Restaurant! We all loved the cream puffs and lasagna!
Then, we headed on to the “real discussion”—-which is the demo part! The students finally got their hands on the brushes and applied makeup as I do mine.

REVIEW : Sleek True Color Lipstick in ‘Stiletto’
One of the greatest products that I got from the package Myla gave me was the Sleek True Color Lipstick. I’ve always been wanting to try Sleek, ever since the Chapman sisters used the brand in a few of their Youtube videos.
"I have to try Sleek!", I murmured to myself, while watching their ‘Bright Colour Blocking Make-up Look’. The eyeshadows look really pigmented—-leading me to a conclusion that their lipstick and blush are too!
Myla gave me the True Color Lipstick in Stiletto, which is matte as stated in the box. However, it contains Vitamin E which I know is a moisturizing property and gives a little bit of shine. The Sleek lipstick is matte, but when you take a picture with flash, it will reflect back just a little, especially when you put on a lot. Remember to remove the excess by pouting on a tissue. That will mattify it even more!
On the contrary, the packaging is really impressive. It’s relatively smaller than all of the other lipsticks I tried but you still get a lot of product because it is highly pigmented. The exterior is similar to rubber like the NARS blushes making me feel like it’s worth over a thousand bucks too. It is very compact, sturdy and lightweight, making it perfect to travel with.
Unlike the other matte lipsticks I’ve tried, it doesn’t feel dry upon application. And you won’t certainly feel like your lips are about to crack when you wear it, since it has Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil and Petrolatum.
